This ones for u (Youngmen and women)... An NYC daily commute leaves us all w/ a spent feeling that I'm sure you'd laugh at, that day ur sense of tired was a much different type of tired, your spirit was tired, soul was tired, heart was tired, and w/ the way everyone worked back then, your feet, I'm sure we're tired...so w/ that, REST, this ones for you! This ones for u Dr. King... The drive that you applied to all you did, the hope u enstilled to those uspoke, the comfort u gave to those u touched...A man who led droves offollowers, solely based on the manner you spoke and carried yourself, just because they believed in YOU, this ones most certainly for you! This ones for u Emmett Till... A youth too young to even fathom an honest dream...gone too soon to be givenan honest chance...killed innocently for no reason, this ones for you! This ones for u Jackie Robinson... A man that has opened doors for each and every athlete we've come to admire,enstilled with enough pride and heart to carry the burden of being the FIRST, staring in the eyes of adversity and knocking it out of the park, this ones for you! There are many great pioneers that have paved the way for something of thismagnitude to come to fruition...What this election should teach everyone is that, if you have a dream, it can be achieved with hard work! Obama has broken down a barrier that many of these pioneers had chipped away at, each day they had air in their lungs to do so. In speaking to an old she was at an unbelievable loss for words. She was there when we were bitten by dogs, shot at with fire hoses, mocked in black face, etc...This is something that our elders couldnt have imagined if it were scripted! So to you Pres. Obama... Thank You! Thank You for not giving up your fight, for carrying on thelegacy that many have set forth, for enstilling unity and hope amongst ALL PEOPLE, something many of us couldn't imagine, and regardless of what liesahead, we are sure to do our parts to aid you in the journey! So a thousand thanks, and a million God bless you's. And may these next EIGHT yrs. hold u in guided hands! YES WE DID!
